Promoting Independence

Service users are supported to attend pub lunches as part of their community activities. Staff assist service users to:

• Travel safely to the pub
• Select and purchase their lunch
• Eat and enjoy their meal in a social setting
• Interact positively with peers and staff

Pub lunches provide opportunities to:

• Develop independence and confidence in using money
• Practice social and communication skills
• Engage in community participation
